Dr Ruiz initial training in the medical field was in Puerto Rico, where he completed a Bachelor of Science in Biology then moved to Guadalajara Mexico to pursue his Medicine and Surgery degree (M.D) graduating from Universidad Autónoma of Guadalajara. in 1993. He then returned to Puerto Rico to persue his internship in Mayaguez PR and complete his Specialty as a Psychiatrist from The Puerto Rico Institute of Psychiatry in San Juan Puerto Rico.

He established a very reputable practice in Manatí Puerto Rico for over 15 years. He also served his community working on mental health institutes, primary care centers, clinics, and public and private hospitals, including emergency rooms settings. Pursuing new challenges, he moved to Orlando FL and started working in Kissimmee and Lake Nona area. After a few years later of engagement with the local community Mosaico Mental Health Center was born. Dr Ruiz & his fully bilingual staff will make you feel like you are family.
